Children's Ministry
At COTR we have a whole-family approach to training and equipping and this definitely includes the children. We believe that children can and should be taught not only the foundational concepts and stories found in the Bible, but also be taught how to hear God, prophesy, and pray for the sick, etc. Many times the lessons that are taught to mom and dad in the main service are broken down into age-appropriate material for the kids. This is so that the whole family is on the same page and growing together. Children's Ministry is led by Yolanda Purtle.
We offer classes on Sundays 1 year - 12 years of age.
- Tweens class - Sunday mornings after worship service meeting upstairs grades 5th - 7th (Class will be on a break during the month of July. They will resume class on August 13th.
- Rock City Kidz Club - Sunday Mornings after Worship service, K to 4th Grade
- Nursery: 1 year through 5 years old

Youth Ministry
We believe it is our divine call to be the epicenter in this generation. The footsteps of our students will be the origin of activity causing a ripple effect on the world around them; spiritual walls surrounding the hearts of this city will fall, healings will come, and revival will break out.
The Epicenter is a place of extreme encounters with God that will shake the foundation of the enemy and cause God’s kingdom to be formed in this generation!
The scripture we hold to is Acts 16:26, “Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose.”

The statement of our heart is “Shaking our world”. We not only desire to shake the world around us, but we long for God to shake us. The best place in the entire universe to be found is in the presence of God. One moment in the presence of God can change a life forever! All teens 6th - 12th grade are welcome to join us.

Teens meet on Wednesdays at 6:30-8:30PM. Our youth leaders are using the Grow curriculum. They enjoy live worship in the sanctuary as well.
Team Leader: Jesse Katz.
Women's Ministry
In this current time, we realize that it can be challenging to be a woman. There is so much going on and life moves fast. Most of us have crazy schedules trying to keep up with the kids, work, school, church , sports, scouts, etc. It can easily seem that we are living this life for all the people around us and we slip to the bottom of our priority list. This is why it is important to take a “time out” to invest back into ourselves.
Our Women’s Ministry offers monthly gatherings and get togethers to do just that. We have events to help boost your spirit such as: Nights of Worship, Bible Studies, and retreats. Then we also have Girls Nights Out such as: shopping trips, eating out, game night, etc. Please check the church calendar for upcoming events. Childcare is provided for some of our events. Call the church office to find out if the event you're interested in will have childcare. Our Women's Ministry is lead by Yolanda Purtle.

Prayer Team

Small Groups
Small groups are a integral part of the Church on the Rock experience. We place such a high emphasis on our small groups because we recognize that they are vital to the growth and equipping process for every believer. These groups offer a way to build friendships with other people while expanding on the teachings and the equipping that takes place on Sundays in the main service. Because these are "small groups" we have the opportunity to expand, discuss, and practice what has been taught in a safe and nurturing environment. Small groups are held on various days and in various homes across Harrisonville and surrounding areas.
